Spying With a Fly's Eyes

2006

A team have developed software that works the fly’s brain.  They were able to record the electrical impulses from each neuron which connects to the eyes of a living fly’s brain (via insertion of microelectrodes).  When it comes to seeing, even a tiny insect brain can outperform any current artificial system. [Russell Brinkworth, a physiologist at the University of Adelaide, Australia.]
