Venturing into the world of language between disciplines of art and science, the talks included the role of the photographic eye sitting between art and science through to a humorous take on what scientists and writers can learn from each other followed by the exploration of the origin of scientists and lastly using science as a focus for children to draw from stimulating creativity. The audience reactions were fixed on the UK’s education systems and thinking mentality between the two disciplines. With the emphasis on scientists’ transition into the arts, it was interesting to note that the panel did not include artist’s transition into the sciences. Despite both disciplines being integrated and interdisciplinary, the lack of insight and general divide between the two disciplines were rather reductionist.
