A strangely intriguing and contradictory juxtaposition of location, a neo-gothic former church of St Augustine’s with performance by Stelarc in his Muscle Machine – an extended walking machine. This extended body with six legs was versatile in that it could walk backward, forward and sideways. It could also squat and sway.
