Helsinki's opening of Anne Brodie's Bee Box

Anne Brodie presented her BEE BOX during the second phase of the EU funded European Public Art Centre - EPAC - programme, which involves a rotation of artworks between participating countries, in Lasipalatsi Square, Helsinki, Finland with Finnish bees (12 October - 20 November 2011).

BEE BOX follows on from Finland’s presentation, CITYBEATS by Ben Dromey, Mina Arko and Jari Suominen that will be showing in Riga, Latvia in November.

BEE BOX is also currently showing on Bishop's Square, Spitalfields, London until the 1st November 2011.   After which UK will receive Portugal's artwork. 

EPAC is a collaborative engagement between organisations across Europe focusing on intersections between art, science and society.  It consists of eight outdoor exhibition spaces established in participating countries that include Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Poland, UK and Iceland.  Currently, the stands are installed in four public spaces hosting artworks as part of establishing the first ever Europe-wide contemporary art venue.
