His talk "On Mutaphobia" is a spectacularly entertaining and confronting look at these and other experiences in the bioart world, including his VivoArts experimental Art and Biology class which was developed for the Conceptual/Information Arts Department at the San Francisco State University. The course continued when he spent a year as visiting artist at Symbiotica, the Art & Science Collaborative lab at the University of Western Australia and at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York state.
